Upper Mustang trek is a fascinating journey to the once ancient kingdom of Lo-Manthang. This trek offers you the sight of unique blend of the Tibetan culture and the deserted landscapes.
The Upper Mustang trek itinerary takes you through the copper red parched valleys, eroded canyon and deep gorges. You will find the trails decorated with colorful prayer flags, mani walls and mudbrick houses.Mustang is the old kingdom of Lo. Actually the capital of the Mustang district is Jomsom, but the real Tibetan style district lies north of Kagbeni and is usually referred to as Upper Mustang. The actual capital, Lo Manthang, where the present king lives, is a fantastic square-walled town sitting on the ‘Plain of Prayers’. The small kingdom of Mustang, closed to westerners until 1992, is an enchanting land of windswept vistas, red walled monasteries, and ancient feudal towns that now live in peace.
